The Early Childhood Mental Health Grants Program recognizes that
healthy and successful children need strong family support and guidance
and an environment that nurtures each child's social, emotional,
cultural and intellectual development. The aim of the Early Childhood
Mental Health Grants Program is to strengthen and sustain policies,
programs, and providers focusing on early childhood and families
with children ages birth to six years.
The program seeks to increase the number of children ready for
kindergarten by building their social and behavioral skills; to
increase the social and emotional well-being of children in early
childhood programs; and to help child-serving institutions become
more competent when working with families to meet the social and
emotional needs of young children. |
