technical assistance grants program

IMH recognizes that organizations must be strong to be effective. Technical assistance grants are intended to strengthen the management capabilities of organizations so that they can better address mental health needs and improve mental health services.

Priorities
Technical assistance grants must be used to build individual and/or organizational capacity. Proposals may cover a wide range of activities, including by not limited to:

leadership development: specifically in areas of organizational strategic importance

imh_hand

strategic and resource planning: organizational assessments, strategic and/or sustainability plans for the continuation of effective mental health services

imh_hand

community assessment and education: community awareness and other techniques that support quality mental health services

imh_hand

partnership development and collaboration: capacity building to help organizations work together to improve mental health services

imh_hand

staff development and training: attendance of mental health or education personnel at conferences to increase their skills in working with children and to infuse their programs or the community with new ideas and information

imh_hand

program planning and design: including assistance to grantees to meet the challenges of implementing IMH grants

imh_hand

evaluation: promotion of effective and appropriate evaluation of mental health services

Deadlines
Small Technical Assistance proposals can be submitted at any time; responses will be made as promptly as possible (generally within 3 weeks).
